My name is Anneke Outred (pronounced A-ni-ka). I am a registered Psychologist working in Footscray, Melbourne Australia. I provide face-to-face and online counselling.
My journey to becoming a psychologist is the culmination of my own life experiences. These include a unique upbringing on a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory; academic study in the fields of psychology and international relations; a professional career as a diplomat and humanitarian aid worker; and experiences living abroad in Norway, The Netherlands, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea.
I have always sought out opportunities to develop my knowledge about the world, and cultivated a deep interest in its people and their wellbeing. Working as a Psychologist developed as a natural progression.
I have experience working as a psychologist in government and private practice. I have also provided volunteer support for not for profit agencies.
I provide a safe space for people to talk, I am LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I have experience working with Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. I have a passion for volunteering in support of social justice and human rights.
I am also a nature and ocean lover.
